Terms of Service

These terms cover the HaulGPS mobile app, the dispatcher portal, and the dispatch service. The sections that matter most are the ones about what HaulGPS is not: it is not an ELD, its routing is advisory, and its reports are a record-keeping aid rather than a filing.
What HaulGPS is
HaulGPS provides truck-aware navigation, trip and mileage recording, expense and receipt capture, IFTA record keeping, load document handling, and a dispatcher portal. Some features depend on third-party providers and are unavailable when those providers are.
HaulGPS is not an electronic logging device
HaulGPS is not an ELD, is not FMCSA-registered, and does not record duty status. It does not satisfy any hours-of-service recording obligation and must not be used in place of a compliant ELD.
Where hours-of-service information appears in the app, it was read from an ELD provider you connected yourself, using your own credentials. That provider is the system of record. HaulGPS displays what it receives and does not verify, correct, or certify it.
Navigation is advisory. You are the driver.
Routes account for the truck profile you entered and the data available from our routing provider. That data can be incomplete or out of date, and road conditions change.
You remain responsible for the legality and safety of the route you drive, including bridge heights, weight and length limits, hazmat restrictions, local truck routes, road closures, and posted signage. Signage in front of you overrides anything on the screen. Do not operate the app while the vehicle is moving.
Mileage, IFTA, and expense records
Mileage comes from GPS samples recorded while a route is open. Gaps happen: lost signal, a phone that dies, a permission that was turned off, or a route the driver never opened. The app cannot record what it was not running for.
HaulGPS also cannot tell a truck from any other vehicle. If a route is opened while driving something other than the truck, those miles are recorded against the truck until someone marks the trip as a non-truck move.
IFTA summaries, expense reports, and exports are a record-keeping aid, not a tax filing and not tax advice. You are responsible for reviewing them and for the accuracy of anything you file.
Accounts
- Keep your credentials and invitation codes to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- A fleet owner may enroll drivers with invitation codes and may revoke that access. Revoking ends the driver's access; the fleet's business records remain.
- Accounts can be deleted from inside the app. Deletion, the 30-day restore window, and what is retained afterwards are described in thePrivacy Policy.
- We may suspend an account for unlawful use, for abuse of the service, or where continued use would put other users' data at risk.
Acceptable use
Do not use HaulGPS to break the law, to track a person without a lawful basis, to upload documents or images you have no right to, to attempt to reach another account's data, or to interfere with the service.
If you link a WhatsApp account, you confirm you are entitled to store those conversations. Read the WhatsApp section of thePrivacy Policy first — linking imports personal conversations too.
Third-party services
Routing and places come from HERE, weather from OpenWeatherMap, document and receipt extraction from Google or OpenAI, electronic signature from Documenso, and hours-of-service from the ELD provider you connect. Their terms govern their services. When a provider fails, HaulGPS reports the failure rather than substituting an estimate, so an affected feature will be unavailable rather than approximate.
Your content
Documents, receipts, photographs and records you upload remain yours. You grant HaulGPS only the permission needed to store, process and display them for you and for the fleet owner or dispatcher you are connected to.
Availability
HaulGPS is provided as-is and without a guaranteed level of availability. Maintenance, provider outages, and network conditions can interrupt it. Keep independent records of anything you depend on for compliance.
Sections to be completed before launch
The following require review and completion by qualified counsel, and are intentionally left unfinished rather than filled with boilerplate:
- Legal entity name, registered address, and jurisdiction.
- Warranty disclaimers and limitation of liability.
- Indemnification.
- Dispute resolution, arbitration, and governing law.
- Subscription, billing, and refund terms for the dispatch service.
Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date above, and continued use after that date means you accept them.
